A Magnificent Peptide But What Is A Peptide Again?

BPC-157 - The Regenerating Peptide

Peptides are short strings of amino acids, typically comprising 2–50 amino acids.
They are easier for the body to absorb than proteins because they are smaller and more broken down than proteins.
Therefore, they can more easily penetrate the skin and intestines, which helps them to enter the bloodstream more quickly.

Research peptides are any peptides that researchers use in scientific research.
In recent years, peptides have gained recognition as being highly selective and effective in therapeutic applications.
Research peptides are those synthesized for study in the lab that can lead to new breakthroughs and future pharmaceuticals, but they become medicines only after undergoing rigorous study, clinical trial, and crucially, the FDA approval process.

What Is PT-141?

New Product: PT-141

PT-141 is a new innovative peptide hormone treatment that improves sexual function.
PT-141 is an effective and efficient treatment for both erectile dysfunction and increased libido and improves sexual arousal.
It works directly through the nervous system to increase arousal, desire, and satisfaction with sex.

PT-141 is the prior developmental code given name for Bremelanotide. This peptide was originally developed as a sunless tanning agent.
It is a melanocyte-stimulating hormone (MSH) that affects sexual arousal, aiding enhanced libido levels and penile erections.
Unlike Viagra or Cialis, PT-141 is not a PDES inhibitor, and it does not target the vascular system.
Instead, it acts on the nervous system via the activation of neurons in the hypothalamus to increase sexual desire.

How Does PT-141 Work?

The initial research in the 1960s showed that PT-141 stimulated the mPOA terminals in the brains of rats, leading to sexual arousal.
The affected part of the brain can trigger dopamine hormones, which influence sexual desire and motivation.
Dopamine is a chemical in the body that acts as a neurotransmitter in the brain and sends signals to communicate with nerve cells.
Low levels of dopamine cause you to have a low libido.

Over the decades following the first experiments, much research and several rounds of trials have been conducted on PT-141.
In the latest round of phase 3 studies, the newest compound, researchers tested bremelanotide on premenopausal women suffering from HSDD.
Researchers stated bremelanotide is effective at the pre-specified levels of enhancement in sexual desire and reduction in stress in these trials.

The synthetic peptide blend was developed from Melanotan II, and was originally intended to darken skin pigmentation and induce tanning.
However, during the initial testing, patients noted a pleasant side effect: that it caused increased sexual arousal.

Benefits Of PT-141

For proper research, you should administer PT-141 via a subcutaneous injection, ideally where there are fat deposits.
The only legitimate form of the peptide is injectable.
