PREVENTS GYNECOMASTIA

Men predisposed to pubertal gynecomastia or men who have excess Estrogen are subject to gynecomastia on very androgenic AAS cycles.
 
Exemestane permanently deactivates the aromatase enzyme responsible for synthesizing Estrogen, bringing down total body Estrogen levels and preventing premature gynecomastia [R].
 

INCREASES TESTOSTERONE

While Exemestane isn’t the ideal Post-Cycle Therapy (PCT) product on the market, it does exhibit testosterone increasing effects which can be very helpful during an androgenic AAS cycle.
 
Treatment with exemestane resulted in decreases from baseline in SHBG and PTH-intact levels, and increases from baseline in testosterone, DHEAS and FSH levels. Exemestane was shown to significantly affect hormone levels [R].

EXEMESTANE SIDE-EFFECTS

Unfortunately, Exemestane is not without side-effects and comes down to the user dosing the drug properly, under a doctor’s supervision, and with proper bloodwork results.

DECREASING BONE DENSITY

Unlike anastrozole, the effect of Exemestane therapy on bone mineral density (BMD) is still unclear. An assessment here was shown to increase BMD overall [R]; we like to give this disclaimer to our community that Exemestane could reduce BMD since this isn’t further clarified.
 

ESTROGEN CRASH

While crashes aren’t typically reported, if the androgenic AAS that is being taken isn’t providing enough Testosterone to aromatize into Estrogen, Estrogen levels risk crashing which puts the user in an equally bad place.

EXEMESTANE AND HIGH CHOLESTEROL

While there is little literature to prove the effects on one’s lipid profile, Exemestane has not been shown to increase LDL and lower HDL [R]; we stick dyslipidemia in the side-effects category of Exemestane because we try to give all possible occurences of something negative to our community upfront so they’re in full wits about each drug we cover.
 

OTHER SIDE-EFFECTS

Many side-effects can occur from the use of hormone-suppression therapies like Exemestane [R]. While this list isn’t exhaustive, here are the most common among community members:
 
  • Hot flashes
  • Lethargy
  • Increased sweating

  • tightness in chest
  • headache

HOW TO AVOID & REVERSE SIDE-EFFECTS

While side-effects from Exemestane will go away almost immediately once the drug is stopped, some side-effects can be mitigated and of course reversed.
 

AVOIDING SIDE-EFFECTS

  • Do not take Exemestane if you have osteoporosis
  • Do not exceed the recommended dose of Exemestane (12.5mg)
  • Do supplement with Vitamin D3, Calcium, and Potassium
  • Stack a SARM, like MK-2866, to increase bone mineral density
  • High Testosterone conversion needs to be in effect from the AAS you’re using
 

EXEMESTANE DOSAGE FOR BODYBUILDING

Bodybuilders use anywhere from 6.25mg to 25mg of Exemestane at a time but the minimum effective dose that most male users have found is 12.5mg every other day.

Since Exemestane is so potent, most bodybuilders use a 12.5mg dose of Exemestane every other day since the half-life is 24 hours. 48 hours without another dose of Exemestane is still very sufficient to suppress Estrogen levels in the body.

EXEMESTANE CYCLE THERAPY

Exemestane is used as an On-Cycle Therapy (OCT) in very anabolic bodybuilding cycles like Testosterone, Deca, EQ, Dianabol, and others.

Assuming one knows the drug they’re using well and bloodwork has been done, Exemestane should be kept on-hand at all times to inhibit the conversion of Testosterone into Estrogen (Aromatization).

Exemestane is often a great substitute versus Anastrozole (Arimidex) due to less reported side-effects like depression, hot flashes, and weak bones.

EXEMESTANE IN BODYBUILDING

Bodybuilders will use Exemestane typically on an every other day basis. The normal dose is 12.5mg every other day but this can be increased to 25mg in situations of highly-dosed anabolics.
